Sports Massage Therapy
Sports Massage is a form of manual therapy that aims to improve general health and wellbeing through the mobilisation and manipulation of soft tissue and myofascial structures. Our therapists apply to evidence-based massage techniques to keep your body moving efficiently and injury-free.
Benefits: Improves lymphatic and blood flow, relaxation of soft tissues, removal of metabolic waste products, muscle and fascial mobility, muscle tone and reduces pain.

Soft Tissue Therapy
To quote the Sports Massage Association (SMA), Soft Tissue Therapy is the “management, manipulation, and rehabilitation of soft tissues”. Similar to sports massage, Soft Tissue Therapy uses specific evidence-based techniques to prevent and provide relief from soft tissue injuries and dysfunctions.
Benefits: Improves range of motion, blood flow, muscle function and reduces muscle/fascial tension, scar tissue, adhesions, pain/discomfort, muscle spasms, tissue stiffness and facilitates recovery/rehabilitation from injury.

Thermotherapy
Thermotherapy is the application of hot or cold temperatures to modify soft tissue responses. Heat Therapy, such as Hot Stones, aims to raise soft tissue temperature which can increase blood flow and accelerate soft tissue healing. Cold Therapy (a.k.a. Cryotherapy) is the application of cold objects, such as Cold Stones or Cold Packs, to cool the soft tissue so to reduce blood flow and limit further damage following injury.
Benefits: Provides an analgesic effect to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and swelling, increase/decrease blood flow and improve range of motion.

Dry Cupping Therapy
Dry Cupping can be considered as an “anti-massage”, where specialised plastic cups are placed on the skin to create suction. The suction creates space in the underlying tissues for blood flow to increase. Originating in Ancient Egypt (1150 BCE), Dry Cupping can be used with other therapies or as its own standalone treatment.
Benefits: Improves blood flow, reduces pain and inflammation, and facilitates the tissue healing process.

Percussion Therapy
Percussion Therapy utilises a combination of rapid, repeated pressure and vibration therapy via a Theragun. The ‘head’ of the Theragun directly transfers vibration energy to muscles and tendons with the aim to improve pain, strength and flexibility. Using the Therabody 365 method, percussion therapy can aid with recovery from training/competition and rehabilitation of soft tissue injuries.
Benefits: Improves muscular strength, muscular power, range of motion, bone mineral density, and reduces pain.

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM) is a form of manual therapy which uses specialised tools, such as Graston and RockBlades, to treat soft tissue and musculoskeletal conditions. IASTM originates from the practice of Gua Sha in Chinese medicine, and can be combined with other therapies or as its own standalone treatment.
Benefits: Improves range of motion, blood flow, muscle function and reduces pain/discomfort, muscle spasms, adhesions and scar tissue.
